Cyprus based forex broker easyMarkets has confirmed that Michael Konnaris, its Chief Executive Officer of the past eight years, has stepped down from his role at the firm. Konnaris, who began his career at easyMarkets in 2005 as Chief Dealer and later COO, will be succeeded in the role of CEO by Nikos Antoniades, who is currently Chief Financial Officer.

Konnaris will, however, remain part of the company’s senior management team as well as an Executive Board Member, according to his statement to the news site financemagnates.com:
Nikos Antoniades is the new easyMarkets CEO as of today! I am not going anywhere, I’m still part of management, as an Executive Board Member. Nikos is an accomplished leader, with a track record of almost two decades working in high-growth key financial positions in companies as Ernst & Young and V-Ship group. He joined easyMarkets in 2007, and prior to becoming CEO, Nikos held the deputy CFO position and later on the CFO position. Nikos holds an MBA from The University of Warwick, as well as an FCCA, and we are confident of easyMarkets’ future success and growth having him.”
Having served as an executive officer of the firm, Nikos Anotoniades will have a clear understanding of the broker’s operating model, the strengths that have enabled it to expand into a globally recognized brand, and the challenges that it faces going forwards. He explained his goals for the future of the company in the following statement:
